Irondequoit boys lax wins, Hill makes history in Greece victory

The Eagles used a 6-1 halftime lead to move to 12-3 on the season.

Jonah Carrier scored a hat-trick while Cooper Moore scored a pair of goals, giving him 50 on the season. Moore’s total is third-most in Section V this season.

Ryan Avery, Dylan Carey, and Oliver Grisdale also netted goals for IQ. Sven Habitzreuther made nine saves for the Eagles.

Nicholas Fosegan and Mitch Monte scored twice for Fairport. Liam Moreland added a goal. Luke Ryan gave a stellar performance in the second half, allowing Fairport to get back in the game. He finished with seven saves.

Irondequoit (12-3) will close the regular season by hosting Honeoye Falls-Lima on Tuesday, May 14th.

Fairport (8-6) will host Class A favorite McQuaid on the same evening.

Greece 12, Wayne 6

Andrew Hill became Greece’s all-time leading scorer as the Storm took down the Eagles.

Wayne led 4-3 early in the second quarter, but Greece scored the next six goals to pull ahead for good.

Greece’s James Maccallini led all scorers with five goals. Hill and Noah Kozak each had two goals. Evan Roesser, Aiden Early, and Carter Fabian each scored once. Jonathan Bucciarelli had 15 saves in the win.

Alex Garrow and PJ Ostrowski each had two goals, while Tas Strickland and Mason Michel each had one.

Greece (7-8) will conclude the regular season on the road at Gates Chili on Monday, May 13th. Wayne (7-7) will travel to Geneva on the same evening.
