ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man was hospitalized after falling into a large hole in the floor of a building on North Main Street in Fairport Tuesday.

Fire crews on scene said the man and a forklift were found in the hole. The man had to be rescued.

Crews said the man was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The building was going through renovations, which officials said could explain why it collapsed. The Fairport building inspector is investigating the official cause.
