Celebrating 47 Years of Community Fun

Get ready for a weekend of celebration and community spirit as we gather for the Annual Fairport Canal Days! Scheduled for June 1–2, with a Chicken BBQ on May 31st to start the celebration, this beloved event promises fun for all ages in the picturesque village of Fairport, NY, along the historic Erie Canal.

Festival Highlights

For nearly half a century, Fairport Canal Days has been a premier juried art festival in the Northeast, produced by the Fairport Perinton Merchants Association. Here’s what you can expect:

Artisan Marketplace

Discover over 200 talented artisans offering a wide array of unique and handcrafted items. From jewelry and home décor to original artwork, there’s something for everyone. Support our local creators and find treasures to take home.

Delicious Eats

Savor a variety of delicious food from our vendors, featuring everything from festival favorites like funnel cakes to gourmet dishes from local eateries. Don’t miss the trendy treats at the food trucks!

Live Music and Performances

Fairport Canal Days is known for showcasing the best of Rochester’s jazz musicians and a mix of diverse talents. With over 60 groups performing on five stages, you’ll enjoy an incredible lineup of music all weekend long.

Friday Night Chicken BBQ:

Kick off the festivities on May 31st from 4:30 to 9:00 pm at Fairport Junction. Enjoy live performances by Eastman Youth Jazz Orchestra and Occasional Saints while savoring delicious BBQ by Chef’s Catering. Don’t miss the commemorative poster signing by artist Elissa DeChick.

Fairport Canal Nights:

On June 1st from 7:00 to 11:00 pm, enjoy headliner bands under the big tent at Fairport Junction. With food, wine, and beer available, it’s a night of top-notch entertainment. Tickets are $10.

Historic Canal Tours

Take a scenic boat tour along the Erie Canal and learn about the rich history that has shaped our community. It’s a relaxing way to enjoy the beautiful views and heritage of Fairport.

Family-Friendly Activities

Fairport Canal Days is perfect for families, featuring interactive games, craft stations, and the Perinton Recreation KidZone. Kids will love the petting zoo and the popular duck race on June 2nd, sponsored by Orville’s Home Appliances. Prizes include $1000, $500, $250, and $100.

Duck Race: The Duck Race will be held Sunday, June 2nd on the Liftbridge.

Canal Tours and History

Take a leisurely boat tour along the historic Erie Canal. Learn about the rich history of our area and the vital role the canal played in shaping our community. It’s a relaxing way to soak in the beautiful scenery and appreciate our heritage.

Family Fun

Fairport Canal Days is a family-friendly event with activities for all ages. Kids will love the interactive games, craft stations, and the ever-popular Perinton Recreation KidZone located in the Northeast public parking lot. Be sure to visit the petting zoo and let the children meet some adorable farm animals.

 Location

The festival is held in the heart of Fairport, along Main Street and the scenic Erie Canal. Free parking is available at designated areas, with shuttle services running throughout the event.

Directions to Canal Days

Fairport is located along the Erie Canal in eastern Monroe County, about five miles east of Rochester, NY.

From NYS Thruway: Take I90 (NYS Thruway) to Exit 45 (Victor). Turn right (north) on Route 96. After passing Eastview Mall and other stores on your left, turn right on 250 North. Follow 250 North all the way to Church Street and you will be in Fairport.

From Rochester via 490: Take 490 east to exit 25 (Fairport Road/Route 31F) and continue east on Fairport Road. This road will take you directly to Fairport.

• Shuttle: $2 round trip, kids under 12 free. Shuttle driver will not be able to make change, exact amount only.
