BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WROC) — For the first time in program history, Fairport’s baseball team claimed a state championship. The Red Raiders defeated Roy C. Ketcham from Section I 3-2 in the Class AAA state title game.

CATCH OF A LIFETIME: State POTY Owen Paino launched one to right, but @FCSDSports sophomore Sam Roselli snagged it over the wall and stole a home run.

In the third inning, Fairport’s Jackson Rucker knocked a base hit to right center for a two-run triple. Rucker later scored on a wild pitch to increase the Red Raiders lead to three.

RC Ketcham plated two runners in the top of the seventh inning. However, the Red Raiders were able to escape a bases loaded jam after a Ketcham batter grounded out to first for the final out.

Fairport prevented RC Ketcham from repeating as state champions.
